Environmental justice impacts: Highlighting critical water concerns along the Mountain Valley Pipeline route and inadequacies of current EJ analyses
We identify three environmental justice communities facing critical water quality risks from the proposed Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) stream crossings that were not sufficiently addressed in MVP’s application for a VA Water Protection Permit. In accordance with current policy standards and the Department of Environmental Quality's recent EJ initiatives, we urge the Water Control Board to deny a permit until further site-specific analyses can be conducted and DEQ develops more thorough EJ procedures.
